Tough, But Not Tough Enough

by
I bought this from a local retailer and it held up for a few months. However, a couple of days ago, after I filled it with some treats, my pit bull mix (a VERY powerful chewer) was able to shear the top off of this toy and ate it without my knowledge. If you do get this toy for your dog(s), do NOT fill it with treats as they will create a solid interior which will then give your dog the leverage to get its teeth into the toy where otherwise their teeth would just slide off, and they can then destroy the toy.

I'm still rating this toy a 4/5 because it's not the manufacturer's fault I chose to fill the toy with treats, and until I did that, it was a good toy for my dog.

Seems to be most everyone's favorite toy

by
I am so impressed by everyone else's experience I will now buy them over Kong. The only thing I noticed is that probably folks are not raw feeding, that said not using real bones which helps those aggressive chewers, thus making these toys last a bit longer and a little less frustrating for us owners, especially if they ruin them while you are away or nowhere near getting another one. The best raw hard item for them to chew is a horn of a deer or elk and they are not abusive in buying them as they have normally been collected after they fall off, see the packaging. You can even stick it in the open-ended toys making it more fun for them. Thank you planet dog for your products, you are now my go-to toy for my service pup, she is half Aussie so quite the chewer, better the toy than people-lol.

Not tough at all

by
I love all of the other orbee products I've had. The basketball is one of my dog's favourites. However, in less than 15 minutes he had chewed the top ball off the bottom ball of this toy. I'm glad you have a good return policy.

It's a tough one but 9 month Boxer Bull mix is tougher

by
We loved it. She was very enternained by the way it bounced all crazy. She a determined power chewer though. She's had it 3-4 months, winced it arrives in a Barkbox. Just this morning she bit off two pieces, one about the size of a quarter., that I cannot find. It's probably gonna come back up when her body realizes the foreign object is there. She's really good about regurgitating pieces of toys or "indestructible" NylaBone products that she manages to tear off and consume. If there really is a lifetime guarantee on these, I think I'm going to request a replacement.

Me and my dog's favorite toy!

by
It is so difficult to find a non-toxic, fun, mentally stimulating, USA made, non-rubber smelling toy these days, but Planet Dog accomplished all these things with the Double Tuff! I bought my dog Cali a Kong recently, and had to throw it away within the first 10 minutes of giving it to her, because it smelled so strongly of chemicals/rubber. This toy is the perfect texture - not so hard that my dog's teeth are breaking on it, and not too soft that she can chew it up easily. I would consider her a medium-strength chewer (pit-boxer mix), but she has not made a dent in it the past 4 months that we have had it. She loves to play fetch with it, and then in the house, we stuff it with treats, which keeps her busy for hours. My favorite toy for her by far. Purchasing my second one now!

Better than K***, this one...

by
I chose an Orbee after a recommendation from the clerk (trains high-drive dogs regularly) during a warranty exchange for a SECOND Kong Extreme that was KIA by my Malinois pup (about 14 months old at the time)... she is an extremely determined biter, as this last Extreme took less than 5 minutes (yes, really) to destroy (just to be sure - I don't let her chew on them whenever - they are rewards only. She killed the last Kong during my bathroom break) I got the Orbee and it almost frustrates her that she can't seem to disassemble this one (she did break it in 2 pieces eventually, after many play and training sessions). Great job to all who worked to make a better product, when Kong chose not to (I love Kong, and hate to say it, but... them's the breaks!).

Chocolate Lab 7 yrs old

by
This is the best toy ever!!!! Our Chocolate Lab would not put it down! We played catch with it and he never knew how it was going to bounce so that added to the fun. The only problem is we bought one with a manufacturing flaw so he ate the toy in 1 week. He is so sad that we had to take it away. Neeed to get another one asap.

Double tuff love

by
I go through a new toy every 2-3 months with my 3yr. pit. He is a very extreme chewer that will only let a stacked orb shaped toy live. Everything else he destroys in a few days. I like these better than the other brand because they are light and bouncy. He loves fetch and catch games so this toy fills that role as well. He seems to be satisfied with the squishy ease this toys compresses in his mouth which means he's not pinning and chewing. I have only gone through one of these Double-Tuff toys so far but they will be my "go to", from now on.

3yr. Pitbull
Extreme chewer
lasted two months + (ripped into two halves at he orb seam, still playable...)

Lasted a year (till raccoons got it)

by
Runner is a big chewer, and most of the toys last about a day or less. Tennis balls usually last just about 30 minutes (if he is busy), but this stuff lasted a year! Great for treat dispensing, and even when empty Runner loved to chew on that. After a year of use it did not even seem like it had been in any way destroyed- till toy was left outside and wildlife got a hold of it... so if you have raccoon- that's not a toy for them, but for your big chewing dog it is a great toy! I purchased it in Unleashed by Petco, but when i looked again they did not have it, so the only regret about the product is, that it is not available at the usual pet store, and from the site looks like only very elite pet stores have it.
Over all- Runner and I love this product and I am supplying him for a while!
Also the color (he had bright green) was great- we sure did not loose it!

My pup loves it!

by
My 3-4 month old retriever/shepard puppy really likes to chew on this. We got this one so she could chew on the smaller end now and the bigger end when she grows some more. Great space to put treats and watch her figure out how to get them out. No issues with durability over a month. Because of its weird shape, it bounces all over the place, which I think my puppy really enjoys!

Indestructible

by
Our lab will destroy any toy you give her. The only toys we could give her before finding planet dog toys were nylabones. We have had this toy for 6 months which is practically a world record in our house. She loves the way it bounces out of control and so far not one chunk is missing!

Durables or most dogs but not indestructible

by
We have four large dogs, this toy held up fairly well with my three older guys and they enjoy the way it bounces when tossed. We have a seven month old pitbull puppy and it was no match for her, she was able to start ripping pieces off within a couple of hours of playtime. It is a good toy but it won't hold up to true "power chewers"

The best toy ever!

by
This is by far the best dog toy we own.

Our dog shreds every other toy to bits in hours, if not minutes, but the Double Tuff is still good as new more than SIX MONTHS later! If you have a serious chewer, you know how impressive this is.

Despite its durability, the Double Tuff is still fairly soft and flexible (unlike the rock-hard Kong Extreme). This makes it easier to bounce around the house without breaking things or marking up the walls, and our dog seems to enjoy chewing it more as well.

This is also a great toy to stuff with some kibble, treats, or peanut butter - and it's reasonably easy to wash out afterwards.

Considering how long it lasts, this is also the best value for money we've seen from any toy. If it ever wears out, we'll definitely be getting another one, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

5/5 chompers and 5/5 stars!
